Apples are the most widely consumed fruit in the world... and undoubtedly the oldest!
They have always been a part of our daily existence. This is further reinforced by the following medieval recipe. The contrasting flavours of turnips, apples and honey give it a very fine taste. 4 cups of diced turnips 4 cups of peeled and deseeded apples 10 cups of water 1 cup of honey 1 pinch of salt 1 teaspoon of cinnamon 1 teaspoon of nutmeg 2 tablespoons of butter Mix all ingredients in a big stockpot and bring to boil.
